This new test allows the identification of the principal variants of the CFTR (Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator) gene through the Fluorescent ARMS (Amplification Refractory Mutation Detection System) from DNA extracted from whole blood and blood spot and the subsequent fragment analysis with an automated genetic analyzer.
